Verzinkerij Operations Office for service and quality

March 2011 – To enhance teamwork and communications, both inside and outside the company, Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard has moved its Operations Office. During the Christmas shutdown, a new office unit was set up at the location of the old weighbridge. All employees involved in order processing, planning and transport, quality and dispatch operations for both galvanisation and powder coating are now housed in the new unit.

Because of the limited amount of time available during the Christmas shutdown, the old weighbridge office was demolished and the new office unit was set up within a week. And the data links were also set up during the same week. All the staff of the Operations Office who have frequent contact with clients are now in a single room, allowing them to consult each other more easily. The planning officers for galvanisation, polishing, powder coating and transport can now see the work as it comes in. That means they can switch faster and ensure the work is planned and done more efficiently. The clients benefit directly.
